PARAN Objective:

Reduce exposure for humans and the environment of this substance through discontinuation of present authorized uses

Three step programme:

1. Development of integrated control strategy ( Problems to import, Public Information)
2. Monitoring and environmental evaluation (Monitoring existing reserves, Problem of the selling of active ingredient)
3. Canceling the register (Dangerous wastes, Notification to the UN)

Actions

Promotion of adequate infrastructure for its treatment and elimination

• Treatment of contaminated oils
• Decontaminating of equipment which were contaminated by PCB
• Mobile unit to treat liquids that contain PCB (in site management and exportation to destruction)

Management of PCBs (1998)
