The POPs Club

To finance the POPs Negotiations, UNEP has established the POPs Club, a creative financing mechanism seeking to promote contributions to a trust fund from a broad range of donors, including governments, intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations. Donors receive recognition through certificates, with those providing the largest sums receiving silver and gold pins. The goal is to raise sufficient funding to ensure that the Pops convention is finalized by the mandated year 2000.
