Regional awareness-raising workshop on mercury pollution - 
a global problem that needs 
to be addressed

UNEP Chemicals, together with the Basel Convention Caribbean Regional Centre in Port of Spain, organized a regional awareness raising workshop on mercury pollution for the Caribbean in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, from 18 to 21 January 2005. 

The workshop was attended by 14 countries in the region (two representatives from each country), in addition to a number of invited experts, IGOs (such as the Basel Convention Regional Centre) and NGOs (such as the Ban Mercury Working Group).
