Regional awareness-raising workshop on mercury pollution - a global problem that needs to be addressed

UNEP Chemicals, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Kingdom of Thailand, organized a regional awareness raising workshop on mercury pollution for countries in Asia in Bangkok, Thailand from 26 to 29 April 2004. 

The workshop was attended by 21 countries in the region (two representatives from each country), in addition to a number of invited experts, IGOs (such as the World Bank, UNIDO, Basel Convention Regional Centres in Indonesia ands China and NGOs (such as the Ban Mercury Working Group, the Natural Resource Defense Council and the Electric Power Research Institute, EPRI). 

The proceedings of the workshop (see below) contain the presentation slides or summary of the presentation given by each speaker in plenary during the various sessions of the programme.
