The meeting of the ad hoc open-ended working group to prepare for the intergovernmental negotiating committee on mercury was held from 19 to 23 October 2009 at the UNESCAP facilities in Bangkok, Thailand.

During the working group meeting, a number of information sessions were held allowing opportunities to discuss certain provisions to be considered by the intergovernmental negotiating committee in developing a global legal instrument on mercury. Parallel meetings on Mercury Supply and Mercury Storage from were held from 8.30-14.00 and from 9.30-14.00 on Sunday, 18 October 2009 at the UNESCAP facilities, respectively.
