Mercury Inventory Toolkit

Inventory development is important for countries in assessing their own situation with regard to mercury pollution and identifying possible ways of dealing with any adverse impacts.  To support country efforts, UNEP has developed the ‘Toolkit for Identification and Quantification of Mercury Releases’.  The Toolkit is a key training and guidance document within the Mercury Programme.  

UNEP is undertaking field testing of the Toolkit in the Asian region.  The field testing is taking place within the context of the Pilot Project where UNEP is  working with a small group of countries interested in developing their initial mercury inventory and associated action plan.

The following newsletter provides several selected questions and answers on mercury inventory development with the Toolkit.  The questions and answers may help further understand the character of the Toolkit inventory approach and many inventory teams may have similar questions during their work.
