Submissions
of guidance documents, training materials and toolkits relevant to
mercury
As a first priority in the new mercury
programme, UNEP Chemicals is collecting guidance/training materials that
might serve as examples or provide input into the guidance/training
materials and toolkits that will be developed under the new programme.
Some of the topics or activities that might be covered include:
-
developing
inventories of mercury uses and releases;
-
identifying
and evaluating populations at risk;
-
risk
communication and outreach to populations at risk;
-
increasing
awareness and promotion of mercury-free products, technologies and
processes, or responsible use of mercury, where appropriate;
-
potential
pollution prevention measures, control technologies, and strategies
for reducing mercury uses and releases.
On
23 June 2003, UNEP Chemicals sent a letter to Governments, through UNEP
official contact points, to intergovernmental organizations and to
non-governmental organizations inviting them to submit any relevant guidance documents, training materials, toolkits, or awareness
raising materials relevant to mercury, such as those listed above
by 15 August 2003. In
order to ensure an open, transparent and inclusive process, the materials
submitted will as far as possible be made available through this website. You can access them below,
depending on whether the submitter was a Government, intergovernmental
organization or a non-governmental organization. Governments
