The UNEP Governing Council considered the Global Mercury Assessment report at its 22nd session from 3 to 7 February 2003. The Governing Council accepted the key findings of the report and agreed on an action plan to assist all countries, especially developing countries and countries with economies in transition, to cut their emissions and releases of mercury.  The full text of decision 22/4 V- Mercury programme, as adopted by the Governing Council on 7 February 2003, is available here.
