Waste Management File.

This is the only file which was peer-reviewed by an expert group, an activity funded in part by the Commission of European Communities. The first report based on the Waste Management File was published in 1985, covering all the chemicals on the IRPTC Working List. It gives information on recommended methods for the treatment and disposal of chemicals wastes. It is not primarily intended as a source of guidance on disposal or treatment of industrial process wastes. It is especially useful when disposing of material which are damaged, time-expired or simply no longer needed, including laboratory chemicals. The file gives a text explanation of the method together with the conclusions of the expert panel and a bibliography.

The file was being expanded, updated and reviewed as IRPTC entered the new decade.
