Guidance & Information - Personal Protection Measures

Personal protection measures include insecticide-treated materials (ITMs) and other personal care measures that protect individuals against mosquito bites. Insecticide-treated mosquito nets provide effective protection where the malaria carrying mosquitoes mainly bite at night when the community has gone to sleep. Insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) offers protection during sleep hours as it repels and kills mosquitoes that enter the house seeking humans blood. The use of repellents and appropriate clothes are also efficient measures to prevent disease transmission by preventing biting. The guidance documents presented are mostly related to ITNs.
