Guidance & Information - Insecticides Use in IRS
The use of chemical methods for control of vectors is an important component in the integrated approach to control vectors. This page provides the links to guidance documents on indoor residual spraying (IRS) with insecticides to reduce transmission by reducing the survival of malaria vectors. It also provides guidance on fogging or space spraying by which flying mosquitoes are killed through contact with the insecticide in the air. However, this latter approach is of very limited use in malaria control programs. Frequently asked questions on DDT use for disease vector control, WHO, 2005
