In coorpation with the United Nations Environment Programme, UNIDO has also conducted training in biotechnology safety and published a training manual, Genetically Modified Organisms: A Guide to Biosafety (1995).

UNIDO's Biosafety Information Network & Advisory Service (BINAS) monitors regulatory developments in biotechnology, world-wide. The BINAS Web site provides country-specific information and offers sources of relevant news and events, a list of the BINAS experts, BINAS projects, and an on-line biotechnology library.
