Consultants are selected among highly qualified candidates in their specific field of expertise.  Academic and professional credentials will be verified prior to the issuance of the contract.  Additionally, core competencies like creativity, technological awareness, ability for team working, and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment are considered essential. Familiarity with chemicals and working experience in developing countries will be an advantage. Proficiency in one official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) is essential, with fluency in other UN official languages an asset.
