PROJECT MANAGEMENT: For implementation of the project, the globe has been divided into 12 regions. A Regional Co-ordinator for each region will be responsible for organising the work at the regional level and will be the principle editor of the Regional Report. In each region, a Regional Team of 4-5 members will be constituted from the wider regional network. Individual regional team members will be responsible for co-ordinating specific components of the Regional Reports. In order to obtain data from the various countries around the world, each country has selected persons that will contribute data on PTS. These Country Experts will also be contact points for promoting the project to other scientists, researchers, government experts, industry personnel and the public, for participation in the contribution of data and the assessment of PTS. A Project Manager, appointed at UNEP Chemicals, will act as the Secretary for the Steering Group and will be responsible for managing all aspects of project execution and dissemination of results including maintaining the website. The Steering Group will comprise representatives from UNEP Chemicals, UNEP-GEF Co-ordination office, along with persons from relevant international, industry and NGO organisations. The steering Group will advise the Project Manager, co-ordinate with other projects to avoid overlap and suggest corrective actions, if necessary. |
