UNEP's Chemicals Branch is developing global guidance for POPs analysis and is undertaking training and capacity building for laboratories, governments, and other institutions to provide high quality information on the presence of POPs in all media.

• Asian Region (2008-2011)
  A GEF project to assist countries in South-Pacific Islands in their GMP implementation and;
  A regional project on intercalibration study for POPs laboratories

• Latin American Region (2008-2011)
  Two SAICM QSP projects to assist Bahamas/Barbados/Haiti and Cuba in their GMP implementation, and;
  A GEF project to assist eight Latin American countries in their GMP implementation

• Global POPs Laboratory Capacity Building Project (2005-2008 : project is now finalized)
